PAINT NC is a group of plein air artists in North Carolina, from the mountains to the coast. The majority of our members are located in or around central North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Pittsboro, Greenville, Apex, Wake Forest, Fuquay Varina), so you'll notice many of the events listed are within that area. Other NC plein air organizations are welcome to join us to list their events. As artists, we all enjoy traveling, painting new locations, and meeting new people so the more locations across the state, the better!
PAINT NC consists of a variety of emerging and professional artists that meet together regularly to paint 'en plein air' and newcomers are welcome to join us for any of the publicly listed events. Artists visting from out of town are also more than welcome to join us at the public events listed.
Since our regular members know of some of the most beautiful, tucked away places, we take turns selecting areas to paint and sharing our 'secret' spots. We've painted in beautiful cattle farms in Chatham county, the Botanical Gardens in Raleigh, dairy farms in Chapel Hill, homes featured in Southern Living and Better Homes and Gardens, Japanese sculpture gardens, and so much more.
